About Helen Keller Park

This 7-acre park located in South Los Angeles is named after Helen Keller, who was known as “the first lady of courage”. At the age of 19 months, she lost her sight and hearing because of meningitis but against overwhelming odds, she waged a seemingly impossible battle to re-enter the world she had lost.
